DeLaSalle defeats Simley 74-52 to advance to the Class 3AAA finals

Top-seeded DeLaSalle made its way into the Class AAA championship game for the second consecutive season with a 74-52 victory over Simley in the semifinals on Thursday, March 12 at Williams Arena. Sophomore guard Sydney Runsewe led a balanced attack of five players in double figures with 19 points in propelling the Islanders (26-4) to within a victory over a successful Class AAA championship repeat. Sophomore guard Savannah White had 16 points and Nurjei Weems added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Kennedy Klick and sophomore guard Kiani Lockett rounded out the players in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Sophomore forward Acheampomaa Danso led Simley (28-3) with 18 points and senior guard Sydney Stensgard chipped in 16.
