A woman died Thursday night after she was hit by a vehicle while crossing a street in Coon Rapids.
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said Coon Rapids police and paramedics responded to the area of Highway 47 Northwest and University Avenue Northwest at 10:10 p.m. after a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.
Authorities arrived at the scene and performed lifesaving efforts on the victim before she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office said early information suggests the woman was crossing the street when a vehicle headed north on Highway 47 hit her.
No other details were immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
